Quasi-Analog Float Switches
Our quasi-analog float switches detect liquid levels incrementally or almost continuously.
Choose between versions with current signal (4–20 mA) or resistance signal (0–10 kΩ) – handcrafted, tested, and precisely tailored to your application.
Two Signal Variants for Maximum Flexibility
Whether for industrial process plants or compact OEM devices – we offer the suitable variant for your application.
Variant 1 – Current Signal (4-20 mA)
Ideal for industrial applications with long cable runs. Our signal converter is already integrated directly into the switch tube – easy installation, ready for immediate use. For this variant, the resistance of the reed chain must not exceed 2 kΩ.
Advantages:
- Interference-resistant & reliable
- Direct integration into PLC/control systems
- Optimal for longer cable lengths
Cost-efficient and high-resolution – this variant is particularly suitable for compact systems with short cable runs. Our resistance chain is linearized and corresponds to the current fill level.
Advantages:
- High resolution for short distances
- Ideal for equipment manufacturing and laboratory applications
- Individual measurement resolution (5, 10 or 20 mm grid) possible
Individual Configuration – Custom Level Technology
Thanks to our modular system, you can configure your quasi-analog float switch precisely according to your requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions about Quasi-Analog Float Switches:
What is a quasi-analog float switch?
A quasi-analog float switch is a level sensor that not only detects fixed switching points but also measures the level incrementally or almost continuously.
It is ideal for applications where precise level measurement is required – for example, in tanks, machines, or process plants.
What is the difference between float switches with current signal and with resistance signal?
Float switches with current signal (4–20 mA) are particularly interference-resistant and suitable for longer cable runs – ideal for industry and plant construction.
Models with resistance signal (0–10 kΩ) offer very high resolution and are perfect for compact devices, laboratory applications, or OEM solutions with short cabling.
Can I individually adjust the measurement length or resolution?
Yes. Quasi-analog float switches from hlm elektronik are modular in design and individually configurable.
You can choose measurement lengths up to 3 m and grids of 5, 10 or 20 mm – depending on the medium, installation location, and signal type.
Which materials are available?
We manufacture in various materials – e.g., stainless steel (1.4571), PP, PVDF, or PA.
This allows each float switch to be optimally adapted to the medium, temperature, and chemical requirements.
From what quantity can I order individual versions?
We manufacture individual float switches starting from a quantity of 1.
Thanks to our modular system, you benefit from short delivery times and economical implementation – even for small series or special designs.
What certification does hlm elektronik have?
Our production is certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001 by TÜV Nord – for documented quality, stable processes, and highest reliability.
